HBFFL Looking For One More Owner

The HBFFL is looking for one more owner for our fantasy league for the 2009 season. If you are a humor blogger and are interested in joining you can check out all the info on my post at Angry Seafood.

If you are not a humor blogger and would like to join we are interested. The only issue that might arise is if a humor blogger asks to join before you. They would get first shot at joining because we are a humor bloggers league after all.

Sex Change After 14 Years of Marriage?

OMG? Am I writing a blog? When did I turn into Leigh (from leighonline)?

Last year, Leigh got dragged into the Humor Bloggers Football league and does not know a thing about football...hell, or sports in general. Shopping at the mall when it is busy is the most competitive thing Leigh does. So, I hid in the closet under the name Fantasy Virgin in 2008 and destroyed the competition.

This year, I have decided to play the game without masquerading as my wife, and Chris (angry seafood) gave me a link so I can blog. (First sign that I have turned into Leigh).

As a profession, I have been selling drugs for over the last 10 years. I am currently selling chemotherapy in our oncology division. However, an opportunity to work in the plastic surgery/aesthetic arena has opened up. The topic of conversation at the casa is no longer about the kids, or the drunk neighbors, it's about face wrinkles. WTF, we are watching TV and I'm commenting on how crappy movie stars look. I'm getting excited for the next Botox party! (2nd sign)

I shopped at WalMart today (w/o any other family members). Leigh has spent so much time at WalMart, that the greeter sends her a Christmas Card. In the past, I have begged her to shop anywhere else. So when my kids helped me unload groceries, they almost had a heart attack that I had WalMart bags in the car. (3rd sign).

Pretty soon I will be making order out of chaos (Leigh's personal motto), going to ladies night out, and hosting bunko.

And I'm still gonna kick all your asses this year in Fantasy Football, bitches.

Eagles Announce New Stadium Theme

Along with the signing of quarterback Michael Vick Thursday, The Philadelphia Eagles announced their new stadium theme for 2009: "Who Let The Dogs Out".

In the same press conference, the team also announced some promotions for the upcoming season.

At the first home game, week two versus the New Orleans Saints will be Michael Vick Night and the first 5,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a complimentary DoggieLoveDoll, courtesy of Petsmelling.

The first 5,000 fans in attendance at Week Five's home game versus Tampa Bay will receive an autographed copy of Michael Vick's new book Dogfighting for Dummies.

Should be an exciting year for Philadelphia Eagles fans with all the free giveaways.

2009 NFL Offseason Report

The 2009 Fantasy Football season is nearly upon us already and the HBFFL will be back in action soon. What better way to kick off the 2009 campaign then with a look back at one crazy NFL off-season.

Michael Vick Buys a Dog

Now that Vick is out of jail, he will need a good training partner to help him get ready for his return to the NFL and hopefully relevancy in fantasy football. Since he has experience with dogs the decision was a no-brainer.

As you can see by the picture above, taken during a recent workout, Vick made the perfect choice. It is a bit of wishful thinking though wearing the Falcons uniform. I don't think they will sign him.

There is no truth to the rumor he used the alias "Ron Mexico" to purchase the dog however.

Detroit Tries out Midget Cheerleaders to Boost Fan Interest, Cute Factor

When a team is coming off an 0-16 season it is a good idea to try any stunt or gimmick to put fans in the seats, especially when they play in Detroit.

Hoping to boost ticket sales the Lions' front office announced they would be trying out little people for the cheerleading squad during training camp.

A current player, who wished to remain anonymous because he was speaking off the record said: "Every time I see one I just want to pick them up and hug them. They are just that cute."

Lessons Learned: The McNair Effect

Never pass out in the same house as your crazy girlfriend, especially when she has access to weapons. Did anyone not learn from the John Wayne Bobbitt experience?

None the less, the death of Steve McNair did not affect fantasy football but it did send a lot of NFL players scrambling to renew their wedding vows recently.

Brett Favre Looks to QB High School Team

Quarterback Brett Favre signed a non-binding agreement recently to line up under center for the Oak Grove High football team in Mississippi.

Head Coach Bubba Franklin was excited about his team's chances: "With Brett on our team we could easily win the state championship and lead the league in interceptions thrown at the same time. Few high school teams can brag about doing that."
